How ChoreQuest works

Three steps. No timers. No nagging. Built so the kid wants to come back tomorrow.

  1. STEP 1

    Parent sets up chores

Add chores with weekday recurrence, point values, icons and optional time windows. Set who needs to approve each one.

  2. STEP 2

    Kid completes the quest

Kids tap to mark chores done and earn XP, level up, build streaks and unlock badges. A perfect day adds a 50-point bonus.

  3. STEP 3

    Parent approves & (optionally) rates

Review completions in one place. Tap a smiley to scale the points — or skip and award full points. The child sees your smiley.

THE QUALITY-RATING SCALE

Excellent
100% of points
Good
80% of points
Okay
50% of points
Needs work
25% of points

Rating is optional. Unrated completions award full points.

Everything you need to build the habit

Real gamification — not just star stickers. Every feature is in the app today.

Weekday recurrence

Schedule chores on the exact days of the week they should happen. The app respects IST so the day boundary is the same for everyone in your family.

XP, levels & streaks

Seven named levels from Rookie to Grand Master. Per-chore streaks and a family-wide overall streak. A 50-point bonus for a perfect day.

Badges & milestones

Automatic badges fire when kids hit streaks, totals and chore-specific goals. Milestone progress cards show the next badge they're chasing.

Parent quality rating

Optionally rate completions with 4 smileys (100/80/50/25% of points). The chosen smiley shows on the kid's card — visible feedback, no nagging.

Rewards & redemption

Parents create rewards with point costs. Kids spend points to redeem. Approvals run through the same Verifications screen.

Parent insights

A real dashboard: which kid is on what streak, what's pending approval, which chores get skipped. Plus a per-day calendar for fixing the past.

What is ChoreQuest?

ChoreQuest is a gamified chore-tracking app for families. Parents define recurring chores; kids earn XP, levels, streaks and badges by completing them; parents can approve completions and optionally rate the quality with a smiley scale. It's a Progressive Web App, so it installs on any phone without an app store.

Is ChoreQuest free?

Yes. The Free plan supports 1 child profile and up to 6 active chores, with all the gamification (XP, levels, streaks, badges, milestones, daily perfect-day bonus, rewards). Premium adds unlimited kids and unlimited active chores and starts with a 7-day free trial.

What is the parent quality rating?

When a parent approves a completed chore they can optionally tap one of four smileys: 🤩 Excellent (100% of points), 🙂 Good (80%), 😐 Okay (50%) or 😞 Needs work (25%). Rating is always optional — unrated completions award full points. The chosen smiley is shown to the child on their completed chore, alongside the adjusted points.

Does ChoreQuest work on iPhone, Android and desktop?

Yes. ChoreQuest is a Progressive Web App that runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) on phones, tablets and desktops. On iOS and Android you can install it to your home screen and it behaves like a native app — full-screen, splash screen, app icon. There is no app-store download required.

Is ChoreQuest safe for kids? Is it COPPA-compliant?

Yes. ChoreQuest follows a COPPA-compliant parent-consent model: a parent creates the family and invites their child by email. We collect the minimum needed to operate (name, email, optional Google profile photo, and chore history). Full details are on the Privacy page.
